All Star Press’ first show of the 2019 takes off with the work of R6D4, Jason Rowland this April!
Jason Rowland is an Indiana-based artist whose paintings explore the graphic imagery in pop culture, pop art, street art movements and most notably represented by spray paint on wood. Influenced by his childhood in the late 1980’s to early 90’s, Rowland’s obsession with the era’s music, cartoons, comics and underground culture is passionately reflected in his work. His free-time interests include playing with his two dogs, reading about conspiracy theories and aliens that continuously make their way into his work.
The solo show "Here’s to Feeling Good All The Time!" features Rowland’s infamous characters, images and phrases that have recurred through his subconscious, extending into his work. The collection of illustrations are both familiar and distorted as iconic symbols such as Peter Pan, the Simpsons, and comic book heroes open a new, untold world. This world is undoubtedly R6D4’s with his iconic graphic press-board illustrations done with spray paint, finished with clear epoxy resin in custom cradled frames. These emblematic characters that conjure feelings of nostalgia will come to embody new personalities at "Here’s to Feeling Good All the Time!" opening on April 20, 2019 and running until May 15th.
