"In my artwork I depict surreal/fantasy dreamscapes of indoor and outdoor spaces. The fantasy spaces are empty of people, simply structured, full of color and contrasting tones. These are my places of solitude to escape from reality. I find peace in the ones I make. I use color to convey mood, possibly reflecting the viewers own emotions. To me it is a dark place to be alone in comfort, to others it is a somber and haunting place to explore. My work is inspired by: the Italian metaphysical art movement in the early twentieth century, fantasy images from Dungeons and Dragons and the simple beauty of shadows in the everyday world. In my work I hope to create a safe place for everyone to explore and feel at home in. We all have emotional needs we need to face, but these works are opportunities of rest."
