“In Between” explores the gap periods and transitions in life through symbols of transformation and growth in new original works by artist Liz Flores. Inspired by the idea of ‘Bardo’, a word commonly referred to when discussing the intermediate state between death and rebirth in Tibetan Buddhism.
Liz Flores is a Chicago-based painter and muralist. Working primarily with acrylic paint on canvas, her work is a reaction to life, an emotion, or a memory. She engages everyday human experience and the female body by using shape, color and the human form as a mode of visual storytelling. Her mural work can be found throughout the Chicagoland Area and New York City. In addition to working with private and commercial clients, she has exhibited her work in galleries throughout Chicago.
