Vanessa Garza, also known by the artist name "Nez" is a Chicago-based Latina artist who specializes in painting, murals, and illustration. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is now a freelance mural artist and illustrator who enjoys making art that is nothing short of cute.
She is best known for her cereal box cartoon characters depicted in many of her recent works. You may have seen her art through her murals in Chicago (Lakeview, West Loop, Elmhurst, Magnificent Mile, Oak Park, Pilsen, and many other Chicago communities), or through her illustrated works and projects for local businesses, most recently including Cafe Tola, Soho House Chicago, The Shops At North Bridge, and the Elmhurst Art Museum.
